Model T
The Assembly Line |
The Model T was created by Henry Ford in October, 1908. This was a reliable and efficient vehicle. This was easy to operate, maintain, and it can handle well on bad roads. As years went by he continued to make and sell them. The Model T was originally priced at $850, this was a pretty high price so in 1915 he lowered the price to $290. It was now a very affordable vehicle. For some time it was only sold in black, due to the paint drying faster which sped up the production. When sales ran low they started making more colors which came on the Model Ts. Ford sold 15,000,000 automobiles that had a Model T engine.

The assembly line was the most revolutionary invention in production and manufacturing. The assembly line was created and it completely changed the way we make things. The first assembly line was put into action at a factory in Highland Park, Michigan. In 1915 when Ford lowered the cost of the Model T, it also increased the amount of automobiles that were assembled. That same year Ford sold 1 million automobiles and made a huge profit. It now costs less to assemble them and they sold more. It used to take 14 hours to make one, after the assembly line it only takes 1 hour 33 minutes.
